Our Training Philosophy

HJI’s training philosophy is embodied within its quality system. First, we ensure that every employee has the correct skill set to perform the assigned job. Any gaps between position requirements and individual capabilities are identified through pre-hiring and/or periodic performance evaluations. Individual shortcomings will be satisfied through scheduled training. Consistent with our company objectives for continuous improvement, we employ a team approach to problem solving and process improvement. We use the performance measurement outcomes of our business to focus subject area training of our managers and employees.

We realize that a career path, training and staff recognition are huge motivating factors for employees. As we hire new team members, we help them identify the path and training that will position them for increasingly responsible internal job openings. We firmly believe that cross-training opportunities lead to career development and personal growth. This also serves as a contingency plan for HJI, in the event of turnover or employee absenteeism. Investing in personal development programs such as motivational, sales, and technology training provides a broader understanding and creates a sense of ownership in the business.

We will focus on training our employees, supervisors and other management personnel to perform at a level that will exceed our customers’ expectations. We use the performance measurements of our operations to focus training on specific subject areas. In addition,, this performance -tracking

We have taken every precaution to ensure that the hiring process for all third-party logistics operations is consistent with our quality recruitment procedures and conforms to our customer’s requirements. Our desire is to hire quality candidates to become part of HJI and equip them with the tools needed to become significant contributors to our success. Each employee participates in a progressive training and development program designed to fit their role within the company. To ensure that employees at all levels of the organization remain ahead of the curve on industry trends, we identify and utilize outside resources such as seminars and workshops to keep skills current. Conflict and stress management, workplace diversity, warehouse productivity as well as computer training are examples of the training courses that we offer our employees.
